Log Cabin Festival: Farmers Market

As a benefit to vendors who have participated in the current Market Season, they can qualify to be part of the Special Farmers Market that takes place on the Saturday of the Log Cabin Festival. The Log Cabin Festival and the Special Farmers Market take place the first Saturday of October each year.  In 2024, this will be October 5th. 

To sign up, vendors should contact the volunteer Market Managers by sending a message to the Harrisonville Farmers & Artists Market Facebook Page, or emailing harrisonvillefarmersmarket@gmail.com. 

 

Vendor Fee

If you have been approved as a vendor for the Special Farmers Market, you should make arrangements to pay the applicable $30.00 fee BEFORE October 1st. 

Payments can be made in person to Lead Market Manager (Amanda Stites) by cash or check or made online by using the secure PayPal portal below. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use the pay portal.

Set Up

Set up will take place between 7 – 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Arrival times will be staggered to allow for easier load. Please refer to the Day Of Instructions. 

Vendors will be allowed to pull their vehicle in to the market area on Lexington street to unload. Vendors MUST enter from Mechanic Street on Lexington Street headed toward the Square. A volunteer will be present at that entrance only to let vendors into the festival grounds. 

After dropping off items, as quickly as possible, vendors should park and then return to finish set up. Vendors must park outside of festival grounds. Vendor parking is available to the North of the Square in the area around First Class Heating and Cooling located at 305 N Independence St.

During the Day

Plan a head for a full day. You are allowed to bring a cooler with food/drinks. Festival food booth will also be nearby serving a variety of food and beverage options. 

Portable restrooms will be available on the corner of Pearl and Independence Streets, but are also available inside Brick House Coffee Bar & Eatery as well as inside the Chamber of Commerce. 

Be prepared for varied weather. Check the forecast the day of and be prepared for a mix of conditions. It is normal for a cold morning followed by a warm afternoon. 

The early morning will be slow, but pick up rapidly as the parade appraches at 11 a.m. The parade will be followed by a full line up of entertainment on the Love the Square Stage which is just to the North of the Courthouse. This entertainment continues from noon to 8 or 9 pm. 

Other Things to Know

Some additional things to know include: 

  • The Log Cabin Festival begins at 5 p.m. on Friday October 4th and runs through Saturday 9 pm. October 5th. 
  • Friday night the space used for the Farmers Market on Saturday is used for a pop-up play area that is free to the community. It is filled with yard games, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and other fun items for families to enjoy. Amanda Stites of Love the Harrisonville Square organizes this each year.   • No generators are allowed in festivals grounds.
  • There will be vendor spaces on the East side of Lexington street that the Chamber of Commerce has sold. The Farmers Market will occupy the West side of Lexington and a long aisle down the middle of that street. 
  • The Farmers Market at the Festival began in 2013 where it was held in a grassy area near the Library and Log Cabin
  • After that land was sold in 2019, the Farmers Market moved to the grassy area to the East of the Cass County Rescue Mission. 
  • In 2022, the Farmers Market moved to Lexington Street on the Square. This was in response to the community’s request to have more arts, crafts and local goods featured during the festival. 

Tear Down

The Chamber of Commerce has requested that no vendor tear down prior to 8 pm on Saturday. After 8 pm on Saturday you are welcome to begin tearing down. Please pack up all your items, including folding tables and canopies, before bringing your vehicle on to the Square. 

If you are the first to pack up, please check with a Market Manager before bringing your vehicle to the Square. They may need to confirm with the Festival Committee if it allowed at that time if large crowds of festival goers are still present. 

Note: If you sell out or need to leave prior to 8 p.m. Please leave your canopy in place and return for it after 8 p.m. or make arrangements for another vendor to collect it for you.
